Benefit
Rodeo
This is to let you know
of an upcoming benefit rodeo on May 30th
at 7pm. The rodeo is for a Burke Co.
mother and wife named Cathy Clarke who
was diagnosed with cancer that no cure
is offered for here in the US and also

officer involved in a high speed chase
and crash. He currently is in critical
condition in Charlotte. Victor is a
member of our horse community here in
Burke Co. Also he and his girlfriend
both own and love horses. We are trying
to reach out and help these two
individuals with a benefit, as though
money is never enough in these hard
times, We are holding raffles,
auctions, concessions, and the rodeo all
on the 30th. All the proceeds will be
divided among the 2 parties. The charge
will be $5 at the gate; children under 5
free. Entry fees- $20 for barrels,
poles, goat tying, buddy pick up; $25

dogging, team roping, bronc riding; and

As many of you have
recently heard, animal
rights extremists have
been targeting the
Cheyenne Frontier Days
and want them to
eliminate calf roping,
steer wresting and the
wild horse race.
Please go to the poll
now and vote NO:
Animal right extremists
have a leg up on us, so
vote now and forward
widely,

Special Note from Tonia
Williams of Shurtape
Technologies LLC
I just wanted to say hello and
to tell you about something. We
had our Rodeo Banquet for 2007
Saturday night and I announced
some new things that we are
going to do this year.
I
have contacted the Wrangler
Tough Enough to Wear Pink
division and got permission to
use their logo and ordered my
entire rodeo staff the Tough
Enough To Wear Pink Wrangler
shirts.
I have had 2 meetings with the
American Cancer Society and they
came to my banquet to kick off
the 2008 Season. We are having 3
events throughout the season in
2008 for the Cancer Society
Benefit.
-
March 29th is the
Ride for Life---Tough Enough
To Wear Pink Benefit Rodeo
-
September 28th is
the Saddle Up for Life
Benefit Trail Ride
-
We are also going to
schedule a Benefit Barrel
Racing somewhere in between.
I am so happy that I decided to
do this, they are great people
to work with and I have learned
so much.
I would love for you and your
family to be involved in this if
your schedule permits it. I
have the sponsor forms for the
Participants to get all the
people they can to sponsor them
to ride in the benefit rodeo. I
will be giving prizes away to
winners because all money goes
to the Cancer Society. I have
everything already donated,
bulls, food and staff.

Great job!!! The people knew
North Carolina was in the arena at Perry!!!
North Carolina won the Grand Entry competition
and $250.00 for their effort. Several NC
contestants were in the top 4 – Eythan Laws
and Billy Saunders split 1st
in the Bull Riding with another competitor,
Kristi Johnson was 2nd in the
Breakaway, Ainsley Alessandrini was 2nd
in the Pole Bending, Brent Murphy and
Caleb Anderson were 3rd in the
Team Roping, and Kelsey Davis was 4th
in the Barrel Racing. I understand several
others were in the top ten, but I don't have the
official results as of yet.
Lindsey Harper, Dillon Wooten, Samantha Murphy,
and Stephanie Hinnant received a $75
check for their “Best of Show” finish at the
Wilson County Fair. Congrats!!!!

have the capability for you to receive e-mails whenever
changes are made to the schedule on the web page. If you
would like to receive these e-mails, send your e-mail

Attention Parents:
We need
volunteers to help with many things – gate, concessions,
setting barrels and poles, selling ˝ and ˝ tickets, etc.
Please let us know if you would be willing to help. The more
help we have, the smoother the rodeos will run and the more
money we can make for the association. Please contact any
Board Member or Student Officer. We promise not to wear you
out!!!!
Hi everybody! Hope you all
had a wonderful time in Perry. I want to
thank all of you for helping out in Perry.
Y'all showed a lot of spirit
for our team! We won the grand entry award
which gives our association
$250. I'd like to give a big thanks to the
Davis' for bring the "Snoopys"
for grand entry. I'd also like to thank all of
you for helping make the
grand entries awesome and for helping decorate
the stands. Also, thanks
to the guys for running the flags around the
arena. That really helped
show our spirit. Hope to see y'all soon!
